Anatomy department was established in year 2009 since the inception of college. Anatomy is the one of the key preclinical department that imparts knowledge about the each and every part of the human body in relation to its size, shape, structure, development, macroscopic, microscopic features, vascular supply, nerve supply, relations, functions and applied aspect of anatomy.  It is situated at ground floor of college building and welcomes the students of first year MBBS and first year postgraduates of MD (Anatomy). The department also provides teaching-learning support to BDS, B Sc. (MLT), B Sc. (OT & AT), B Sc. (Radiography & Imaging technology) students.

The department is headed by Dr T. L. Anbumani experienced faculty with 28 years of teaching experience who has laid foundation for educational excellence in the department. He is an excellent teacher and bestowed with awards for excellence in teaching and mentoring the students.

The department trains the undergraduate and postgraduate students in various branches of human anatomy by theoretical and practical methods. Students are exposed to all the facilities available (as per MCI norms) in the department, kindling their interest on to research frontier.

Students are given access to perform and learn Gross Anatomy by Cadaveric Dissection. There is a spacious Dissection Hall with facilities for storage of 8 cadavers in special deep freeze chambers. Adequate Cadavers are issued to the students for their study purpose.

Slide preparation process is done meticulously in the department for Undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The Department houses an excellent museum of more than 650 specimens. Cross section of the entire human body from head to foot is dissected and displayed in the museum. There are different sections in the museum allotted for dry specimens, comparative anatomy cross sectional anatomy, embryology and neuroanatomy. Adequate number of 3D models and charts are made in the department as per the student needs and are used for teaching-learning.

Students are given an all-round training, thereby molding them to become good doctors with best ethical values.
